Jonathon Beattie
Why do I like Infra-red film? I think I like it because of the other-worldly dream like quality it gives to images. I have focused on environments devoid of human life but full of human influence and design.
I have chosen to display a separate portfolio of work next to my infra-red images. This work started as a peice about the recession and a particular section of undeveloped land on the border between Manchester and Salford. As the work expanded the images formed a commentary about nature in our urban expanses. Concerns about environmental issues have also crept into the pictures.
Photographed in Salford and Manchester.
