Rebecca Fry
I am currently studying photography at Manchester school of Art. My work consists of a wide variety of subjects ranging from Wildlife to surrealism. My ambitions are to travel around the world once more, carrying out wildlife and documentary work, leading to illustrating the different cultures and worlds to the public. Another interest of mine is to create surrealist work provoking the viewer’s thoughts and emotions, testing the boundaries of taboo.
Currently I have been exploring the idea of what once was and creating a sense of nostalgia, through discarded places that contain lost memories. Which has now progressed to the what is now, looking at personal possessions that have been abandoned.
For the exhibition I will be carrying on these ideas, using found cinema film that has been exposed to the elements. The reason behind this is to take the what once was to the what now is and almost breathe new life into the forgotten.
